    1. My favorite childhood book was The Hobbit. My sixth grade teacher read it to me and opened up a whole new world of imagination through story telling. I have enjoyed the movies, but my imagination was always better!!!!

    2. There were/are so…many great children’s great books. Heidi had to be my favorite. The story was filled with so many of the same emotions we feel as children as well as adults.

    “The Electric Grandmother” that my daughter and I loved and watched multiple times. I even purchased the video.

  6. My favorite book as a child was a big book of childhood Fairy Tales. I was out of school during most of first grade due to illnesses, and it was a gift from my first grade teacher Mrs. Cooper.

  11. My favorite book was Fox in Socks! I read it so much as a child that it became tattered and torn. Over the years it got lost in the moves and my oldest daughter bought a replacement for me! One the best gifts ever!

  19. One of my favorite childhood memories was going to see the musical “Annie” in Richmond, Virginia. I was in awe of all of it and we would play the eight track over and over each day for months.

  25. The Wizard of Oz ALWAYS came on right around the holidays every year. I used to watch it when I was a little girl (born in the 70s), right next to the Christmas tree. My grandmother used to cut up apple slices, drink Pepsi from the tall thin glass bottles and pop the popcorn the old fashion way….in a pot with a cover. It was a tradition that I hope to pass on for my daughter when she gets older. Memories….

  29. My favorite childhood movie is Mary Poppins! I know every part and every song! I’ve watched it over and over and over! I’ll watch it any time it’s on tv and play it for the kids often! Even took the kids to see Mary Poppins when it was on Broadway!

  60. The Wizard of Oz. My mom and dad began the tradition of watching The Wizard of Oz every year at Easter time. I’ve carried on that tradition with my children and grandchildren. I hope that they will continue this tradition with their own families when they are grown. It’s become a beloved practice in our home.

  65. I loved all the Disney classics! Every Sunday night we sat down as a family and watched The Wonderful World of Disney, movies like Parent Trap, Mary Poppins and The Shaggy Dog were great and bring back so many wonderful memories.

  66. The Black Stallion was my favorite movie and book. Either one set my mind to wondering what it would be like to live on an Island with a horse and to live a dream.
